Luxury Watch

“Who needs a watch anymore” seems to be the general consensus when time pieces come up in conversation. Surely, in theory, nobody needs watches, we have the time in our pocket with cell phones, PDAs and laptops anyway, but there is something amazing about a luxury time piece that no technological gadget can ever replace.

Luxury watches have a long and well celebrated history in Europe and in the United States. Time pieces were a sign of wealth and class in past decades and while their use has somewhat simmered down in recent years there is still a market for luxury watches.

While a cell phone can tell you the time a cell phone might not look good doing it and luxury watches are often considered jewelery pieces rather than actual time devices. Coming in a plethora of metals, finishes and accentuated with gemstones time pieces are truly a beautiful accessory that everyone should have at least one of.

Luxury watches can also tell you more than simply the time. I've always enjoyed a good luxury watch with a compass built in and chromatic watches add a certain air of luxury as well. Watch collectors are still alive and well and there is a fairly large community of young adults who are finding interest in the luxury watch scene.

Call them utilitarian or fashion statements, either way luxury watches have had a place in society for hundreds of years and will continue to have a place in society and the fashion world, regardless of how understated it's presence is. If you purchase a luxury watch you will find that people will stop you to compliment on it and ask questions about it.

It is very possible that luxury watches will rise again in popularity via the fashion-conscious youth who are finally remembering timepieces exist.
